K is for killjoy

Is is slightly hypocritical to complain about negative-assed people in the middle of spending a month bitching about shit that pisses you off? Probably. But I'm doing it anyway.

I can't stand killjoys. While I do love to rant and bitch, I try to see the humourous side of everything, even the negative things. Especially the negative things. My ex hubs is a pessimist which might have been a lot more enjoyable if he had spent more time trying to find the humour in the absurd and the stupid, as opposed to just giving up on humanity altogether and assuming the absolute worst all the time. By all means, get your hate on about the shit that pisses you off, but for fucks sakes, balance it out with some positive, or you're doomed to a life of misery which includes sucking everyone else into your depressing black hole.

I'm pretty sure Buddha said this first because it sounds zen-like

Killjoys do just that: they kill your joy, leaving a swath of dead happiness wherever they go. Sure, I hate eleventy billion things and fervently wish clowns would all die a horribly painful death, and when I'm fucking miserable, I wallow and brood and lie facedown on my bathroom floor to contemplate drowning myself in the toilet. Ok, that last part is a lie because I don't care how depressed I get, I will never put my face in  poo-water because that's just fucking disgusting. My point is, everyone has shit that makes them unhappy at times, but being around people who are endlessly negative in a non-funny way utterly sucks

Middle fingers are totally positive in my world. Because giving them gives me joy. See how that works?
Killyjoys get 5 ironic and somewhat hypocritical flaming middle fingers on the Hate-O-Meter. In other news, I'm waiting for the lightening to strike me dead, due to all the hypocrisy

  1. Ugh, I know what you mean. I hate emotional vampires. I enjoy a good bitch session as much as the next person, but when someone's negativity is so toxic that it starts to poison you too, it's time to get the hell out of there.

    1. I've been unfortunate enough to know a lot of people like that, and stupid enough not to get the hell away from them as quickly as I should

  2. This is so true, bitching is fun, clowns royally suck, these are facts but people who are negative about everything are just awful and toxic.

    1. I love a good bitch session, but I'm the type of person who likes to vent (often at the top of my lungs) and move on. Dwelling on the negative shit is pointless to me and the only place it takes me is back to DepressionTown, and I really try to avoid that place

  4. I with you guys! Kellie's "emotion vampires" comment was perfect. I was stupid enough to hang around these types for too long when I was younger. Here's to being older, wiser, and braver.

  7. Emotional vampires, we used to call them. People that suck the life and joy out of EVERYTHING.
I'm still loving these posts. Easily one of the best from the A-Z Challenge. :)

  11. I have a coworker who I think of as Eeyore, because she is so miserable and negative all the dang time! At first I just thought it was circumstantial, but then I began to realize that that was just her general personality. Ugh.
